A tragic shooting in River Ridge, Louisiana, left a mother and her young son dead, two other children were injured, and their father was killed in a shootout with police. Glenn Bohn Jr., 46, is believed to have murdered his wife, Dung Pham, 40, and their two-year-old daughter, Amy Bohne, before engaging in a violent encounter with law enforcement officers on Jan. 18.

The ordeal began around 4 a.m. when a chilling 911 call was made from a child inside the home. The young caller reportedly told officers: “My dad had shot my mom.” When officers arrived at the scene, they found Dung and Amy unconscious in the hallway, both with gunshot wounds. Two other children, ages 9 and 13, were also injured.

The 9-year-old boy was in critical condition, while the 13-year-old boy had been grazed by a bullet in the ankle. Both were quickly taken to the hospital. While officers were securing the residence, they located the suspect, Glenn Bohn Jr., in a back room with a firearm. A standoff ensued, during which several officers fired their weapons, striking Bohn several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. WWLTV.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office released a statement confirming the tragic events: “Around 4:00 a.m., deputies were called to a residence in the 10000 block of Stephen Dr. after receiving a report that several people were shot. inside the place.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult woman and a minor inside the residence, who were unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers also located two additional juvenile victims inside the residence. They were also found to have gunshot wounds. While securing the residence, officers encountered an adult suspect who was armed with a firearm.

During the encounter, several officers fired their service weapons at the suspect and struck him several times. The two unresponsive victims and the suspect were pronounced dead at the scene. “The two injured victims were transported to an area hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.”
