Czech Republic star Vladimir Coufal insists team is ‘behind’ Ondrej Kudela and ‘happy’ to travel to Wales for World Cup qualifier despite Rangers defender Glen Kamara reportedly being racially abused
Czech defender Vladimir Coufal has insisted that his teammates stand next to Ondrej Kudela, despite allegedly abusing Glen Kamara.
Kudela is currently under investigation by UEFA after the incident occurred during Slavia Prague’s final 16 clash against Rangers in the Europa League.
After initially appearing to miss a trip to Wales with his countrymen, Kudela has now flown out – and Coufal is happy to be standing next to him again.

“Of course everyone on the Czech team is behind Ondrej and everyone is happy to be here,” said Coufal.
‘He is an important part of our selection. I cannot comment on other things that have happened.
‘I think Ondrej is happy to be here. He is a great professional and that is no problem for him. ‘
Slavia Prague’s Kudela is said to have targeted vicious racist abuse against Rangers’ Glen Kamara this month
Slavia Prague has categorically denied allegations that Kudela had targeted racial violence against Kamara during the match on March 18.
Last week, it was confirmed that Police Scotland has also launched a probe.
Rangers midfielder Kamara was visibly enraged immediately after Kudela walked up to him and, with his hand wrapped around his mouth, reportedly called him an ‘f ****** monkey’.
Due to the ongoing situation, Kudela’s club initially refused to allow him to travel to participate in the 2022 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

It was revealed they feared for his safety if he returned to the UK – but they eventually gave in and Kudela will be playing a role in Cardiff.
Czech boss Jaroslav Silhavy was adamant during his pre-game press conference that Kudela is ready to play.
He said: ‘We are not going to specify the security measures, but of course we will continue with the wishes of the player and the players.

‘The team is happy that Kudela is here with us and they are ready for the game.
Obviously, it’s quite awkward what’s going on, especially for Ondrej. But I don’t think it affected him and he’s prepared for the game.
“It was clear to me that I wanted him here and I want to thank those who were able to arrange it for Ondrej to be with us.”
