SpongeBob SquarePants are angry about Wendy's new take on the Krabby Patty, with some calling the $14 meal a 'rip-off'

SpongeBob SquarePants fans aren’t impressed by Wendy’s new take on the Krabby Patty, with some calling the $14 meal a “rip-off.”

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the popular cartoon, the fast food restaurant teamed up with Paramount to release the highly anticipated ‘Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab’ meal.

On October 8, the first SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired burger was cooked and customers eagerly waited in line to order.

But when some people finally got the chance to try the food, which included a cheeseburger, a side of fries and a ‘Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty’, they were sorely disappointed.

“We’re getting completely ripped off with this Krabby Meal shit,” Noah narrated.

Above the video, a text appeared that said: “Don’t buy the Krabby Patty, it’s a scam.”

Initially, Noah directed his criticism at the Krabby Patty itself, saying it was simply a ‘Dave’s Double with a little Big Mac sauce.’

According to Wendy’s, there are some differences between their SpongeBob SquarePants-themed burger and a Dave’s Double.

But the slippery distinction ultimately comes down to the number of cheese slices, the types of sauces used, and the amount of meat.

Noah was equally disappointed with Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.

“This ice cream is horrible,” the TikToker said, stirring the slimy yellowish substance in the drink.

“Mine was incredibly watery and all they did was take vanilla ice cream and stick some pineapple goo on the bottom.”

According to Wendy’s website, Noah wasn’t far off the mark here. Under the Sea Pineapple Ice Cream is made from vanilla ice cream and ‘pineapple and mango flavored puree swirl’.

The fast food restaurant hailed this combination as the “first-of-its-kind Frosty flavor innovation.”

Noah continued to destroy his food, telling viewers that “of course his fries were cold.”

‘There is nothing good in this food. There’s no special box,” she said, showing the regular Wendy’s bag to the camera.

“They’re scamming us out of $14 for this shit,” Noah said as he threw the food into the trash.

“Wendy is disappointed,” he said at the end. ‘What the hell is this?’

In the comments section, viewers commiserated with each other over their disappointing experiences.

‘They burned my smoothie,’ said one user.

“I bought a Krabby Patty meal for all four of my family members, so we’re talking almost $50 a meal,” another person wrote, before adding “it was very disappointing.”

Other viewers defended Wendy’s and attributed Noah’s disappointing experience to the particular location he visited.

“I think it depends on where you go in terms of packaging because my brother just sent me a picture of all the food and it came in a fun box and cool packaging,” someone commented.

The collaboration between Wendy’s and SpongeBob SquarePants was announced on October 2.

In its press release, the fast food company said, “In a world where people take shortcuts, Wendy’s is known for quality in everything we do.”

“So, it makes sense that two of pop culture’s most iconic plazas would come together to bring this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages!”
