Curtis ’50 Cent ‘Jackson has lined up a new project, which will have both the lead role and executive power to produce a new movie called Free Agents.

The 45-year-old rapper and actor has signed up to star in the project, described as a “ sports heist thriller, ” said The Hollywood Reporter.

Deon Taylor (Black and Blue, Fatale) will direct, while co-writing the script with Joe Bockol and distributing Lionsgate.

The project is described as a ‘high-concept sports action heist thriller’, following a group of professional soccer players who decide to steal from the owners who exploit them.

The story will focus on a ‘companion’ who finally has a chance to succeed, and gets sucked into this crime ring with teammates that threatens everything.

Jackson will play the leader, a veteran linebacker who pulls the youngest player into his scheme as he seeks revenge on the owners of the soccer team.

Taylor also co-directs and produces with his partner Roxanne Avent Taylor, through their Hidden Empire Film Group, which focuses on Black Storytelling.

The project strengthens Jackson’s relationship with Lionsgate, after producing the Power TV franchise, which is produced by Starz, which is owned by Lionsgate.

The franchise began with the TV series Power, which continues with Power II: Ghost, Black Mafia Family, and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

Jackson has not only produced Power, but also played Kanan during the show’s six seasons, which ended in February 2020.

He currently plays Cassius Dawkins in the ABC series For Life, and will return as Enson Levoux in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.

Jackson is also producing all of the Power follow-ups, including the recently announced Power Book IV: Force, which got the green light from Starz in August.
