The ex-wife of slain Cash app founder Bob Lee said today’s arrest of a man over the stabbing to death is “the first step towards justice”.
Lee was stabbed in the street last week. He was visiting the city from Miami, where he used to live. Police have yet to confirm the suspect’s identity, however local assignment He reported that he was a fellow tech executive who lived in the Bay Area.
It’s unclear if the man attended the same tech conference Lee was in town for, but the pair were seen in a car together at around 2.30am, moments before the stabbing.
And police sources said that some kind of confrontation between them led to the attack.

Lee staggered somehow from the car and was caught on surveillance footage struggling to walk nearby after the attack.

One day after Lee’s death, a former fire commissioner was attacked in the street outside his mother’s house. A 24-year-old man was arrested in that case.
The fire commissioner said the accident and Lee’s death are evidence of an escalating crime problem in San Francisco.
Lee’s father, Rick, had previously paid tribute to him on social media, calling him his “best friend.”
