Crysis 4 is supposed to come, but when asked about when, according to some job advertisements from Crytek, there is only one conceivable answer: not soon.
Last year, Crytek announced the fourth part of its well-known shooter series, Crysis. But since then it has become quiet about the title. Now leave some new job postings the question mark behind a possible release window in the coming year or the year after next will get even bigger.
The German developer with headquarters in Frankfurt is currently looking for one senior producersa lead AI programmer, and a lead environment artist – all specifically for Crysis 4.
Is there even a team for Crysis 4?
The fact that the requests are all high-ranking – for a game quasi identity-determining – positions, it makes sense to ask whether there has ever been a properly functioning development team for Crysis 4 or whether there is one as of today?
It sure works in core team on the new offshoot, but it won’t be big. Most likely, the new series part is still in a very early development phase, in which it is most likely still to be general conceptthe direction of the art design and experiments with technology and new ideas.
According to the apparent state of development, there is almost nothing to see about Crysis 4 so far. Crytek has not yet released more than this short teaser trailer:

Even writing down an approximate release year would be pure speculation at this pointbecause no one outside of Crytek probably knows right now how big or how far along the project is. It may even be restarted internally once all key positions have been filled. But as previously mentioned: all speculation.
