Cruz Beckham, David and Victoria's youngest son, has parted ways with his music management business after a dispute over the use of only his first name.

David and Victoria Beckham’s youngest son has parted ways with his music management company after the family insisted he use their famous surname.

Tap Management wanted Cruz Beckham to be known only by his first name, but his parents resisted the plan, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The music company and Cruz parted ways in January, and the 19-year-old is now signed to another label, C3.

Tap wanted to protect Cruz – who plays guitar, piano, drums and mandolin – from accusations of being a “nepo kid.” He has a Posh Spice tattoo on his arm.

The company eventually relented on the use of his last name, but also discovered that its plans for Cruz would occasionally clash with Brand Beckham events, including soccer games and fashion shows.

Insiders say the final straw was when Victoria Beckham foiled Tap’s plan to go viral by singing in London pubs. She later posted a video on Instagram of Cruz doing just that in a posh pub.

A family friend said: ‘Cruz is really nice and has what it takes to make it. But the Beckhams and Tap found it difficult to agree on a way of working. When he decided to keep the Beckham name, Tap was supportive but he was not his first choice.

A source added: ‘His manager had this plan for him to surprise people by performing in pubs.

“They were hoping someone would see it and share a video on social media and it would go viral from there. Victoria didn’t like that plan, so the idea was shelved.”

Posh also reportedly thwarted Tap's plan to have Cruz go viral by singing in London pubs, after she posted a video on Instagram of him doing just that in upmarket pubs.

Posh also reportedly scuppered Tap’s plan to have Cruz go viral by singing in seedy London pubs, after she posted a video on Instagram of him doing exactly that in upmarket pubs.

But a few weeks later, Victoria filmed Cruz singing the Beatles’ Come Together at Guy Ritchie’s Lore Of The Land pub in Fitzrovia.

She closed the video: “Spontaneous performance last night at the pub!”

The source said: “The aim was to distance him from being Posh Spice’s baby. Not only had he cancelled the plan, he had scuppered it.”

A Tap source said: “We parted ways on amicable terms. We are focused on making music artists as successful as possible. It wasn’t possible under the circumstances.”
