- Michelle Truelock says her daughter, Cari, has been bullied for years
- He said he has contacted district officials but they have not done anything.
Cruel bullies taunted a disabled 11-year-old girl by calling her fat and hairy and even encouraging her to eat plastic beads that could kill her, the girl’s mother has claimed.
Michelle Truelock told KTXS Her daughter, Cari, has endured this bullying for years with little to no help from the Snyder Independent School District in Texas.
She said she has done everything she knows to do as a single mother to stop the bullying, including calling the school district and arranging meetings with administrators, and claimed other parents who have witnessed the bullying have also called the school district, but nothing has been done.
Meanwhile, Cari, who was born with a condition called 2q37 deletion syndrome, which causes learning disabilities and affects her memory, continues to endure insults.
“They called her Cari the pussy, Cari the hairy, and they told her to pick up the fat honey bun,” Truelock said.
Cari Truelock has been bullied at Snyder Junior High School for years, her mother says
“This happened around 4pm because she was waiting for the bus,” the heartbroken mother said. “I went to pick her up at 5.30pm and she couldn’t remember between 4pm and 5.30pm what those kids were saying to her.”
But, Truelock said, the most traumatic thing her daughter ever experienced was when other students at her high school convinced her to eat Orbeez — gel beads that grow in water.
“One of the teachers called me and told me that Cari had been eating Orbeez on the bus,” she said.
“When I got her home, I asked her what she was doing and why she was eating Orbeez. She said, ‘Because they said it would taste good.'”
However, the pearls could expand inside the throat and intestines if swallowed, which can cause blockages.
Michelle Truelock said she’s done everything she knows to do as a single mother to stop the bullying, but she says the school district has done nothing to stop it.
The most atrocious bullying Cari faced was from some of her classmates who convinced her to eat plastic beads.
“I’m furious,” Truelock said. “I’m terrified for my daughter. It’s not fair. Her life is hard enough as it is. She shouldn’t have to deal with this.”
She pledged to go to the Texas Department of Education with her complaints and “any means I can find to get something done about it.”
Truelock even hinted that she is willing to take the district to court if necessary, claiming that the school system is “known” for bullying.
“I’m a single mother, I don’t have time for all this, but something has to be done,” she said.
Snyder Independent School District says it is investigating the allegations
The Snyder Independent School District says it received an email on August 16 at 9:54 a.m. about the bullying allegations and that they would be featured in a news report.
“We want to assure our community that Snyder ISD takes all allegations of bullying very seriously and that we are actively conducting a thorough investigation into these allegations.” Administration officials said.
“Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students,” they insisted.

“We are committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students,” they concluded.
“We thank our community for cooperating as we work diligently to address this issue.”
