A possible key piece of evidence has been uncovered after an estranged couple were found dead in their home in a suspected murder suicide.
Mark Stillman, 64, and his wife Lesley, 67, were found dead at a house on Golf Links Drive in Carramar, north of Perth, at 10.40am on Sunday, and authorities said there was no ” no third party participation”.
Police had been called to carry out a welfare check on the couple, who were separated but still living together, when they made the terrifying discovery.
Now, a note left by Stillman has emerged as possibly key evidence, the Western Australia reported.
A family member found the note, which allegedly said words like: “I won’t get justice, I will die with her.”
Mark Stillman, 64, and his wife Lesley, 67, were found dead in a home on Golf Links Drive in Carramar at 10:40 Sunday morning. The couple is in the photo.
Police have ruled out the possibility that a third party was involved in the deaths of the Stillmans, who had four children.
“Homicide squad detectives have determined that there is no third party involved in this tragic incident and WA Police will prepare a report for the coroner,” WA Police said in a statement.
A spokeswoman told WhatsNew2Day Australia there is no ongoing threat.
“Investigators can assure the community that there are no concerns for the safety of the general public,” he said.
Officers rushed to the couple’s Golf Links Drive home over the weekend after being called by concerned relatives of the couple, both from the UK.
A resident of the normally quiet street said he and his wife spoke with Stillman the day before her death and that she had given no indication of any problems.
“We spoke to Lesley on Saturday morning, she was in high spirits, she was going to do pilates with her friends and that was the last time we saw them,” she said.
“We will understand in a few days.”
Mrs. Stillman had recently returned from a trip to Cambodia and Thailand.
Police officers attended the property (pictured) on Sunday and detectives and forensic officers visited the house on Monday.
According to her LinkedIn page, she had volunteered at Guide Dogs WA and completed an MBA at London Metropolitan University.
Dozens of police officers have been involved in the investigation into the deaths, speaking to locals and asking them for any CCTV footage they have up to a week before the deaths.
