Aunt – ‘We cannot understand the anguish of the last 24 hours’

The aunt of murdered teenager Eliyanna Andam spoke today of her family’s “heartbreak” over the tragic death. She speaking from her family home just half a mile from the scene of the stabbing.
His aunt Marian told The Mirror: “This is a tragedy. My sister hasn’t figured it out yet. She wanted to be a lawyer. She went to a private school and had a great future ahead of her. My sister paid for her education.
“She was a lovely girl, she loved gymnastics. She loved to comb her hair. We are all devastated by this. We are a big family and we are all here for my sister.
“We are planning to release an additional statement at a later date. We cannot understand the anguish of the last 24 hours. She went to school and did not come home.”

The first picture has emerged of the 15-year-old schoolgirl who was stabbed to death on her way to school in south London.
She has been named locally as Eliyanna Andam, a pupil at the Old Palace of John Whitgift, a private girls’ school in Croydon.
The girl was on her way to school when a fight broke out between her, her friends and other students at a local school, witnesses say.
