Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway looked glamorous tonight as she attended a lavish reception in London.

Mette-Marit, 49, donned a shimmering navy dress to join her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, also 49, at the network’s Norway Night reception at Lindley Hall in the British capital.

The mother of three proved to be the queen of color coordination, pairing her dazzling dress with navy blue heels and a matching handbag.

This fashion-forward maxi dress features a dropped hem, ruffled 3/4 length sleeves and flaunting bold shoulder pads.

Looking effortlessly elegant, Mette-Marit completed her look with a bit of glamorous makeup, keeping her curly hair down.

The princess let her statement dress do the talking and opted to forego glittery accessories for her outing tonight.

Her husband Haakon, who is heir to the Norwegian throne, looked equally sophisticated in a navy blue suit and pink tie.

The royal couple were pictured on stage during the reception, each holding notes thought to be for giving a speech.

Haakon is the heir to the throne of Norway. Despite being older, his sister, Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, is fourth in line to the throne due to Norwegian succession rules.

Mette-Marit was born an ordinary man to farmers in Norway and was a single mother by the time of her engagement to Crown Prince Haakon in 2000.

She became crown princess after the couple’s wedding in 2001. Mette Marit has spent her reign championing humanitarian projects while taking part in official visits.

Her first official appearance was at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony at Oslo City Hall on 10 December 2000, following the announcement of the couple’s engagement on 1 December.
