Business at Uniqlo was boosted by a bag that became a TikTok sensation.

Dubbed the ‘most popular product of the year so far’ by Vogue last spring, the fashion retailer’s £14.90 crossbody bag flew off the shelves last year.

Young shoppers flocked to stores after it went viral on social media platforms including TikTok, becoming Uniqlo’s best-selling bag.

Fans compared it to Mary Poppins’ magic carpet bag as it can hold a surprising amount.

And some TikTokers filmed themselves filling it with products to show how much they could fit inside.

Its half-moon shape was compared to the high-end Prada bags of the 90s.

The Japanese retailer said its total sales rose 36 per cent to more than £1.1bn during the year to 31 August.
