- Cronulla junior given ultimatum over tattoos is Joshua Taylor-Myles
- Taylor-Miles has been ordered to cover his tattoos if he wishes to play.
- The tattoos on his legs read ‘eat shit, f****t’ and ‘snort and f*** lines’.
A tattooed football star who was told to hide his offensive designs or risk being banned from the competition has been unmasked as Joshua Taylor-Myles.
It was reported on Sunday that an anonymous NSWRL star had been given an ultimatum after officials discovered two offensive messages written in ink on his legs.
One tattoo says “eat s**t” while the second tattoo on the other leg says “snort and f*** lines.”
The player’s identity was a mystery, but Daily Mail Australia can now reveal that the player in question is 23-year-old hooker Taylor-Myles, who plays for the Aquinas Colts in south-west Sydney.
Taylor-Myles was selected to play in the NSWRL Luke Lewis Cup last week, where an image of his tattoos went viral on social media.
Football player Joshua Taylor-Myles (pictured) has been warned for two highly offensive tattoos.
One tattoo says “eat s**t” while the second tattoo says “snort and f*** lines.” The tattoos are seen, above, on his thighs.
On Monday morning, a NSWRL spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Cronulla JRL has issued the player with an official warning and asked him to cover the offensive tattoos if he wishes to continue playing in any NSWRL sanctioned competition.
‘The NSWRL and Cronulla JRL are committed to providing a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all people, including those of diverse sexualities and genders. Being an inclusive sport not only reflects our core values, but also reflects the diversity of our local communities.
“We have zero tolerance for any form of bullying, harassment or defamation towards people with diverse sexualities and genders.”
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Taylor-Myles and Aquinas Colts for comment.
Cronulla officials only became aware of the highly offensive tattoos when a photo of the tattoos circulated on social media.
“Just vile,” said News Corp commentator Buzz Rothfield.
‘They are so offensive. It’s very homophobic. They did not realized. They didn’t check the leg tattoos of all the players they chose in the representative teams, but when a photo of the player was posted on social media, they recognized it and sent it to the New South Wales Rugby League and good for it. Dave Trodden.
‘He jumped on it straight away. He said we have zero tolerance for any form of bullying, harassment or defamation towards people with diverse sexualities and genders.
Veteran NRL reporter Phil Rothfield described the tattoos as “vile”, “homophobic” and “offensive”.
Cronulla Juniors officials were reportedly unaware of the tattoos until a photo went viral on social media.
“They’ve told this guy, ‘Cover them in duct tape or you’ll never play in a NSW Rugby League sanctioned competition again.'” I applaud them for coming down so hard on their rubbish.
“He plays in a club where there are a lot of young men and women who participate for fun, for the camaraderie and it’s just out of character.”
News Corp has described the father-of-one as a “smart No. 9” and “tall for a prostitute.”
“Taylor-Myles is known for exploding in the ruck and is powerful enough to break the line,” the report adds.
“An outstanding try scorer, he often makes the right choice.”
