The legal team of ex-Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has asked a US federal court to file a civil claim against him for damages for alleged sexual assault.
Lawyers for the Portuguese striker allege Kathryn Mayorga’s legal team gave ‘stolen papers’ to Las Vegas police who were investigating the claims.
According to legal documents filed in the US District Court in the District of Nevada, Ronaldo’s lawyers want Ms. Mayorga’s case dropped due to the behavior of her legal team.

Ms Mayorga wants to reverse a previous settlement worth £375,000 12 years ago and instead want to sue the footballer for more than £56m in damages and costs

Ronaldo’s legal team has filed documents opposing attempts by Ms. Mayogra’s lawyers to request additional time to deal with discovery orders

according to The mirrorRonaldo settled a case with Ms Mayorga 12 years ago for £375,000.
She then tried to overturn that original settlement in 2018 and is now claiming more than £56 million in damages and costs.
In addition to dismissing the case, Ronaldo’s legal team wants Stovall and Associates, who represent Ms. Mayorga, to be disqualified from the case. The footballer’s lawyers also want all sensitive documents sealed.
Ronaldo’s legal team alleges that Ms Mayorga’s lawyers approached a group of hackers seeking more documents and turned over data illegally secured by the Football Leaks website to the Las Vegas Police Department.
