Cristiano Ronaldo was mocked once again by Saudi Arabian fans during Al-Nassr’s draw against Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo, 39, has enjoyed an impressive 18 months since moving to the Middle East, scoring 56 goals and adding 15 assists in just 61 games for Al-Nassr.
However, a regular feature of his time in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) has been rival fans mocking the Portuguese superstar for his long-running battle with Lionel Messi.
Messi and Ronaldo are the two biggest stars of their generation, winning 13 Ballon d’Ors and numerous titles between them, but it has long been a divisive issue in the game who is better.
And, on Friday night, Ronaldo received more derogatory chants during Al-Nassr’s 1-1 draw with Al-Hilal.
Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the object of ridicule from the fans during Al-Nassr’s draw against Al-Hilal
When Al-Nassr was up 1-0, Ronaldo, 39, missed a golden opportunity when playing towards goal.
Despite having a clear shot on goal from about 15 meters, Ronaldo failed to score.
The striker missed his shot with his left foot and his shot ended up near the corner flag.
The night had started well for Ronaldo, who within a minute assisted Octavio’s goal that put his team ahead.
However, midway through the first half, the 39-year-old wasted a great opportunity by shooting on goal from inside the area.
Ronaldo tried to finish with his left foot, but he made a mistake as his shot ended up closer to the flag than the goal, leaving the forward with his hands on his head.
However, things got worse for him: Aleksandar Mitrovic equalized with a penalty in the 100th minute for Al-Hilal, who had already become SPL champions.
Then, in the final throes of the match, a clip on social media showed Ronaldo crouching on the ground, looking demoralized.
To add to his misery, Al-Hilal fans started chanting ‘Messi, Messi, Messi’ at him while he was furious.
After Al-Hilal’s dramatic equalizer, Al-Hilal fans mocked Ronaldo with ‘Messi’ chants.

Al-Nassr, led by Portuguese coach Luis Castro, has players such as Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, David Ospina, Aymeric Laporte and Alex Telles in its ranks.
Despite Friday’s frustrations, it has been a decent campaign for the team, with Al-Nassr guaranteed second place in the SPL.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo is in line to win the SPL Golden Boot, having scored 33 goals, six more than Mitrovic with just two league games remaining.
