A Premier League goalkeeper knocked down a pitch invader during his team’s open training for Euro 2024 while another managed to catch Cristiano Ronaldo.
Several teams have been holding training sessions open to fans ahead of starting their campaigns in Germany, and 8,000 fans attended the session in Portugal on Friday.
Roberto Martínez’s team will begin their campaign against the Czech Republic on Tuesday and trained at Gutersloh before things turned ugly with several spectators entering the field.
The likes of Ronaldo were involved in the session, with around 12 fans storming the pitch as security rushed to stop them in their tracks in a video that appeared on x.
However, one player took matters into his own hands and the invaders overpowered the security staff, with Wolves goalkeeper José Sa running towards a fan and knocking him to the ground as Ronaldo was grabbed on the pitch.

A Premier League player was responsible for crossing the field and knocking down a fan.
Footage showed Sa, who was part of the training session with his teammates, bursting onto the field and appearing to grab the viewer by the neck.
The fan had evaded a security member while running down the touchline where the Portugal team had been training, but Sa took no prisoners and dragged the fan to the ground.
A fan managed to reach Ronaldo, but the striker stood still while security personnel dragged him away.
Reports suggest that 6,000 tickets were initially distributed to fans, with many reselling for almost £700.
One fan seemed determined to take a selfie with some of the players, holding up his phone as security prevented them from moving forward.
Sa has two caps for his country and will debut in 2023 after playing at various youth levels.
He is not expected to start the tournament in goal, playing as Diogo Costa’s backup alongside former Wolves stopper Rui Patricio.
