Harassment claims: Hedge fund tycoon Crispin Odey sues Financial Times
Crispin Odey is suing the Financial Times for defamation almost a year after it published sexual harassment allegations against him.
The hedge fund magnate, 65, faces allegations about his conduct between 1998 and 2021 from more than a dozen women, according to an investigation.
Odey has denied all allegations, but resigned from Odey Asset Management, which he founded in 1991, shortly after the reports, and it was decided that the fund would be liquidated.
The Financial Times said: ‘His lawyers recently sent us a letter of demand and a defamation lawsuit has now been issued. Our journalism about Mr Odey was carefully prepared and publication was in the public interest.’
