A 56-year-old man was flown to the hospital after he was accidentally hit by a monster truck during a packed truck show at an Ohio fairgrounds.

Dramatic video showed the Monster Truck Wars security staff member crushed under a tire at the Marion County Fairgrounds Coliseum Saturday night.

Terrified onlookers and emergency crews rushed to free the victim from under the truck’s giant wheel shortly after 8 p.m.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified man was taken to Marion General Hospital before being flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

He is said to be in stable condition following the horrific accident, which surprised and shocked the crowd of people who gathered for the monster truck show.

“I sat there and said a prayer, you know,” Johnson said.

“It’s almost like when you see things and you think this guy is going to get up and wave his hand like, ‘I’m fine,’ and that didn’t happen.”

According to Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles, the man is in stable condition, however, the extent of his injuries is unknown.

On Facebook, locals expressed concern about the size of the stadium, saying it was not big enough to host such an event.

“That’s an extremely small place for monster trucks,” said one woman, Melissa Bowers. ‘TThe smoke alone would be bad, but the limited space was an accident waiting to happen.

“It’s a very small stadium,” said Marion resident James Anderson. “I don’t know how they have a monster truck event there.”
