A mysterious locked green box has been found in the Blue Mountains, and many Australians are guessing what could be inside.
A photo of the box was shared on Reddit on Monday and was found by a curious Australian at the end of a walking trail in Katoomba, western Sydney.
The box is hidden in a forest green camouflage, which blends perfectly with the surrounding trees and bushes, nestled deep in the Jamison Valley.
‘What is in the box?’ They captioned the photo.
“It is locked and chained to a tree at the Dardanelles Pass, at the foot of the Giant’s Staircase.”
A mysterious locked green box has been found in the Blue Mountains, and many Australians are guessing what could be inside.
Reddit users speculated about what could be inside.
“It is full of tools for working on the tracks, only idiots would mess with it, since the workers will have to carry them in and out every day.”
Meanwhile, others gave some very creative guesses about what the object might contain.
Some joked that it could contain “body parts,” “ammunition” or a “defense system.”
Others suggested it could be a geocache. A geocache is like a hidden treasure box, usually containing a logbook and sometimes small items to trade.
People around the world hide these boxes outdoors and others use GPS devices to hunt them as part of a real-life adventure game.
