- She says she bought $ 15 pumps from Kmart and covered them with glitter
- Her simple technique consists of applying multiple glitter layers on top of the glue
A creative Australian woman has revealed how she has transformed a pair of $ 15 nude pumps from Kmart into the perfect pair & # 39; blingy & # 39; wedding heels.
The woman from New South Wales went to Facebook to show how she had used fine glitter and white craft glue to make the sparkling shoe.
& # 39; I have the Kmart women's shoe heel & & # 39; hacked & # 39; and turned into a blingy wedding shoe, & # 39; wrote the delighted woman next to hooks with the heels before and after.
She added that making the shoes & # 39; easier than it looks & # 39; and that all that was needed was fine glitter and a $ 10 product called Mod Podge.
A woman has told how she has transformed a pair of $ 15 heels from Kmart into a pair of blingy wedding heels (pictured before and after)
$ 15 nude shoes from Kmart (photo left) were layered with Mod Podge (photo right) and glitter
The woman's method first included painting on Mod Podge (a type of PVA glue for machining) on the shoes. Mod Podge is available at Spotlight.
& # 39; Less is the best, nice thin layers are better or you get lumps and bumps & # 39 ;, she said.
& # 39; Do not paint over fold / sewn parts of the shoe or you will get cracks in your glitter layer (paint to the edges and leave the gap between the sewn pieces). & # 39;
The woman advised to build up the layers of glue and shine slowly until you have the desired level of shine
Once the shoes are ready, add a layer of Mod Podge over the top to seal the glitter
Then she said she scattered a fine layer of glitter and let it dry.
Her recommendation was to build up layers until you achieved the desired amount of shine.
& # 39; Less is best with both the Mod Podge and glitter for a nice smooth end result, & # 39; she said.
When the shoes are ready, paint with a final layer of glue to smear the glitter.
Make sure the shoes are well dry before adding more glitter and do not paint over seams as they will crack while walking
She later shared her hack to a Facebook group dedicated to Kmart, where it was caught with a flood of support from hundreds of people who said how brilliant her idea was.
& # 39; This would be perfect for what I need … I recently brought these shoes and would like to make them beautiful, & # 39; said a person.
& # 39; Very cool idea and skills. I like both the shoe before and after the shoe. Both should have fun, & another person wrote.
A third said: & # 39; They look great great. Thank you for sharing. & # 39;
