Video footage captured the moment a crazed monster truck driver crushed unsuspecting cars and injured people at the annual ‘Rednecks with Paychecks’ gathering in Saint Jo, Texas.
Jonathan Earl Reid, 36, of Crockett, faces five felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the shocking Sept. 21 incident.
According to witness statements, the ordeal began when Reid got into a verbal altercation with several people after hitting a UTV.
The situation quickly escalated when Reid allegedly proclaimed, “If the vehicle doesn’t have an eight-foot flag, I can hit it.” KFDX/KJTL reported.

Witnesses described a horrific scene when Reid allegedly put his truck in reverse, crashing into nearby vehicles before quickly putting it into gear and accelerating.
Angry attendees reportedly began throwing rocks and beer cans at Reid’s vehicle, prompting him to use the massive monster truck to run over other vehicles and people.

The huge vehicle then crashed into a Jeep SUV, rolling over it and people scrambling to escape its path.
Reid reportedly continued his rampage, smashing another UTV and hitting the victims.
In total, five victims were identified, ranging in age from 26 to 67 years old and from Kansas, Texas and New Mexico, police told the outlet.
Two of the victims required hospitalization. His current condition is unclear at this time.
The incident caused panic among the crowd, and a 911 caller initially thought one person had died, although authorities have not confirmed any deaths.
In total, five victims were identified, ranging in age from 26 to 67 years old.
Security at the event managed to arrest Reid before authorities arrived at the scene.
Police collected at least 21 written statements from witnesses, many of whom identified Reid as the perpetrator.
The Montague County Sheriff’s Office reports Reid was booked into the county jail in the early hours of Saturday morning, but was released later that evening after posting bonds totaling $200,000.
