Today show host Craig Melvin celebrated “new beginnings” as he checks in on the year 2025 with his wife and kids, as he prepares to replace Hoda Kotb.
It was announced in November that the broadcaster, 45, will replace Hoda, 60, on NBC’s popular breakfast show on Jan. 13, when she will step down to focus on spending time with her two daughters.
Before he starts his new job, Craig has been enjoying some well-deserved rest and recuperation on a luxury vacation with his wife Lindsay Czarniak, 47, and their two children: son Delano, 11, and daughter Sybil , out of nine.
Taking to Instagram to say goodbye to 2024, he shared a sweet photo of him and his family smiling and hugging.
She also posted a photo of Lindsay and Sybil playing on a beautiful sandy beach, as well as a photo of Delano splashing in the sea.
Captioning the post, Craig said: “Got away for a few days to celebrate new beginnings. Cheers to a really great 2024. Hello to a fantastic 2025.
‘Here’s to you and your tribe a happy new year from the Melvins.
‘May it be a year full of health, smiles, laughter, happiness and peace beyond.’

The presenter rang in the New Year with his wife Lindsay and their two children, Delano and Sybil.
Craig’s fans were quick to wish him well and expressed their excitement about him co-hosting the Today show.
One said: ‘This is your year!!! So excited for you and your family!!! Yes you can!!!’
Another wrote: ‘Happy New Year! I wish you all the best as you take the anchor seat.
A third added: ‘All the best to you and your family in 2025. Excited to see you take a seat with Savannah!!’
Echoing a similar sentiment, a fourth exclaimed. ‘I’m so excited for your hosting position in 8 days!!’
Hoda announced in October that she was leaving the Today show. Its last episode will air on January 10.
Craig, who will co-host the show with Savannah Guthrie during the 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. timeslots, will begin Jan. 13.
In November, Melvin’s co-anchor Savannah, 53, noted that her new role has been “one of the most popular decisions NBC News has ever made.”
The family of four hosted their party as they made sure to mark the new chapter.
Craig shared sweet Christmas photos of his children frolicking on the beach.
The presenter managed to escape to soak up the winter sun before his new job.
Addressing Hoda, he said, “Although you are irreplaceable, we are very excited about the news in our Today family and that is the person sitting next to me, our dear friend and talented, wonderful, hard-working, most worthy of this.” Craig Melvin is the new host of the Today show.

“This is one of the most popular decisions NBC News has ever made.”
Shortly after Craig was announced as host, his wife Lindsay shared her tearful reaction.
She took to Instagram Stories to praise her husband, explaining that she was on a flight home from Los Angeles and couldn’t watch the show live.
‘I have friends and my husband’s assistant who send me videos. I’m crying because I’m very proud of Melvin and happy for him,’ the sports presenter shared with her followers.

Lindsay also posted a series of sweet photos featuring her and the South Carolina native with a lengthy caption praising his work ethic and talent.
‘Honestly, my heart is about to burst. Craig Melvin: I am so proud of you and so grateful for the man you are. I almost announced the Today Show news over the intercom so the other passengers on my plane would know why I’m crying.
She continued: ‘I am overwhelmed with emotions as I watch this morning’s announcement of your appointment as the new co-host of the Today Show.
“I think seeing the news become official along with its television family has made me realize even more what a true blessing it is.”
He continued: ‘The opportunity to see the person you love see their dream come true is a great gift. I will never forget this day and the crowd’s enthusiasm for sharing your good news.’
