Braith Anasta addressed the elephant in the room on NRL360’s first show since Paul Kent was dropped by Fox Sports.

Kent, 54, was involved in a street fight in Sydney on Saturday night, and a video shows the pundit. allegedly fighting with a younger man outside Rozelle’s exclusive venue, Totti’s.

Kent, who had previously been removed from the station for nine months after being accused of assaulting and choking his ex-girlfriend, had not been reinstated as the show’s co-host until February, after being acquitted in court.

On Sunday, a 35-year-old man was charged as police investigations into the incident continue.

And all eyes were on NRL360, the show where Kent has voiced his opinions on all things rugby league over the years, when his colleague Anasta opened the show without him.

In a brief monologue on Monday night, Anasta acknowledged Kent’s absence from the show.

“Hello and welcome to NRL360,” he began, looking into the camera lens.

‘Paul Kent is not with us tonight. Paul has been removed from Fox Sports pending an investigation into an incident over the weekend.

James Graham and Dean Ritchie filled the large void left by Kent, with regular Phil Rothfield also in the studio.

In the video, which circulated on social media on Sunday, a man, who appears to be Kent, can be heard calling a younger man a “doghead” before attacking him.

Associates could be seen attempting to intervene before the two men exchanged blows in the street.

Kent has not been charged by police over the incident in Sydney's inner west.

The clip ends with the man who appears to be Kent being thrown into the base of a tree and the other man climbing out.

In a statement to WhatsNew2Day Australia, a spokesperson for Fox Sports and The Daily Telegraph said: “Fox Sports presenter and News Corp Australia columnist Paul Kent has been stood down pending an immediate investigation.”

Kent had spent much of 2023 away from NRL360 pending an investigation into alleged domestic abuse against his ex-partner. The 54-year-old man was found not guilty in court.
