- Aylin Rósales and her husband told their families that they were expecting a girl
- The couple had been told their baby was a girl at an ultrasound last fall.
- But they have since been told that the previous medical team had made a mistake.
An expecting couple was shocked to discover that their initial ultrasound had gotten their child’s sex wrong, but only after hosting two gender reveal parties.
Aylin Rósales, from Southern California, shared in November that she and her husband, who married in 2022, were told to expect a girl at an ultrasound appointment last fall.
They then had an up-close-and-personal gender reveal, and the couple simply cut a cake side by side to reveal its pink interior.
They then shared the news with their entire family at a large gathering, via mini cannons emitting bursts of pink confetti.

“When EVERYONE thought we found out the sex of our baby,” Aylin wrote via a text overlay from the party.
Then, in a shot of her and her partner opening the cake, she wrote: “When WE thought we had found out the sex of our baby.”
But on a subsequent ultrasound, the sonographer became confused when looking at the images of Aylin’s stomach.
“No, it’s a boy,” the technician explained to the mother-to-be, shaking his head.
She added with a text overlay of the ultrasound surprise: “When we REALLY found out the sex of our baby.”
In the caption, Aylin explained: “From the moment I found out I was pregnant I had a feeling we were going to have a baby, I was very happy either way but this made me realize that I can really trust my intuition.
“This baby has us on an emotional rollercoaster… This time I’m officially and safely… a boy mama.”

“Now I can feel the struggle to return or exchange certain gifts,” one of them laughed.
“This happened to me hahaha, they told my parents I was a boy and I came out a girl,” wrote a second.
“They told me a girl and after seven months we discovered it was a boy,” repeated a third.
“This happened to me, I really wanted a girl but after the gender reveal I wasn’t convinced, then they told me it was a boy and I felt like that was true in my heart,” another chimed in.
This happened to me!! “My doctor assumed she was a girl when my baby was cross-legged, but the second time my husband and I went for an ultrasound, the ultrasound technician showed us it was a boy,” another person explained.
Likewise, at Aylin’s previous ultrasound appointment last fall, the baby had her legs crossed, making it more difficult to determine her sex with complete certainty on the spot.
