SANTIAGO CITY — A farmer and his wife were found dead Tuesday from multiple cut injuries inside their farm in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Police said in a report on Wednesday, July 12, that the bodies of Carlos Bala-wa, 53, and his wife Julie, 52, were found at the farm in Sitio (sub-village) Kalingkingan in Barangay Buenavista.
The couple went to their farm in Buenavista to repair the hose that supplies water to the forest area, investigations revealed.
The couple’s son-in-law, who was not named in the report, went to the estate after the couple failed to return home. He was the one who found the bodies.
Capt. Manny Pawid, a spokesman for the Nueva Vizcaya police, said in a statement Wednesday that a further investigation was underway and a person of interest had been identified.
However, the person’s name was withheld to avoid compromise in the follow-up investigation, it added.
Police said they still had no idea the motive for the murder.
