A married couple has been negotiating who will get the tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour that they purchased before their separation as part of their divorce settlement.
Swift, 34, kicked off the Canadian dates of her tour at Toronto’s Rogers Center on Thursday, but it appeared a former partner would no longer be attending.
Jane Cvijan, senior legal advisor at M & Co. Law, revealed to CTV News who recently had to help the estranged spouses decide what to do with the concert tickets they had purchased about a year ago.
Referring to his clients, Cvijan explained: “A couple who had bought the tickets when they were still together and then were thinking about how they were going to handle them now that the concert will take place after their separation.
“In this case, because of the very specific concert we are dealing with, the actual market value was going to be much higher than the value for which the couple actually purchased the individual tickets.”
The case needed to be resolved before Swift came to town because some of her Toronto concert tickets are now worth thousands of dollars, with some reselling on StubHub for $13,000 each.
The law firm decided to present the couple with three options: They could still go to the concert together as planned or one person could buy the tickets from the other at the current market value.
The third option was to sell both tickets and split the profits between them.

Cvijan could not confirm which option the former couple chose, due to attorney-client privilege, but said the couple considered all three options, made a decision and were happy with the outcome.
Speaking about divorces in general, she added: “It can be as complicated as you want, it can be as difficult as you want, or it can be as easy as you want.”
Meanwhile, Taylor put on a leggy display when she took the stage in Toronto on Thursday night.
The Shake It Off hitmaker looked incredible in a silver, blue and gold leotard as she entertained her legions of Canadian fans.
Swift added height to her figure in a pair of shiny gold and silver knee-high boots and also wore a gold necklace.
Letting her blonde locks fall loose over her shoulders, Taylor performed for the crowd with a baby blue guitar during the show.
Elsewhere in the show, she also donned a strapless white dress with an asymmetrical hem and matching ankle boots.
She also wore an orange and blue minidress with a pleated detail along with a purple faux fur coat for another look.

Attorney Jane Cvijan confirmed to CTV News that her clients had purchased the tickets about a year ago before their separation.
During the concert, Swift broke her silence about her six Grammy nominations.
Last week it was revealed that the singer had earned six nominations for her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), including Album of the Year, as well as her duet with rising star Gracie Abrams.
The winner of 13 Grammy Awards made history this time as she is now the first female artist to be nominated for Album of the Year a total of seven times.
Swift thanked the 50,000 fans at the Rogers Center for supporting TTPD since its release in April, admitting it’s an “emotional” album for her.
She also said she was in total disbelief that she was nominated for six awards at the upcoming 2025 Grammys ceremony in Los Angeles, tying Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan for nominations.
‘You guys did something incredible over the course of the last few months. I’m just talking about what you did when you accepted The Tortured Poets Department album,’ Swift began.
‘It really blew me away because it’s very emotional for me that this album was written during the Eras Tour. And you guys have been amazing coming into this album and really understanding where I’m coming from with it and making it by far the biggest debut week I’ve ever had with an album.
