A couple claimed they were photobombed by the ghost of a dead soldier while dining at a top London restaurant.
Ross Cheeseman, 35, said he was out to dinner with his partner Georgia Renshaw-Smith, 26, from Bristol, and her family for a birthday dinner at the famous Quaglino’s in St James’s.
The couple, who have been together for four years, took a photo while sipping champagne and enjoying oysters.
In the terrifying photo, a translucent white figure appears to hover behind the two men, who Ross says looks like a “military man in uniform.”
Quaglino’s is a famous brasserie-style restaurant that dates back to 1929 and has been a celebrity haunt for decades. Her guests have included everyone from Queen Elizabeth II to Elton John, and most recently Prince Harry.
The couple’s celebratory meal at Quaglino’s was shockingly photobombed by the appearance of a ‘dead soldier’ - in the ‘best ghost photo ever’.
Ross claims the photo even scared the waitresses and restaurant manager, as they had never seen anything like it before – but he can’t deny that it’s a fitting location given that this popular restaurant is rooted in the ‘history.
Ross explained: “I switched my iPhone camera to the front camera to take a selfie of me and my partner.
“I had taken a photo or two that my partner wasn’t happy with, so I took another one. This is the photo that, when we looked at it, revealed what looks like a ghost in background.
“I think the ghostly figure looks like some sort of ex-military guy with broad shoulders in uniform, looking over my or my partner’s shoulder.”
“It looks transparent because you can make out a spine and ribs, I think it also looks like he’s wearing some sort of headband or hat.”
He continued: “I showed it to the whole family and we were all amazed.
“Georgia’s family thought I had faked the photo, but then realized that was impossible given the length of time between taking and showing it. I have absolutely no explanation for what is behind us .
“We then showed the waiters and waitresses and asked them if they had ever witnessed anything else similar. All the waitresses and waiters were scared.

“They even took my phone and showed it to the manager who came and told us how scary it was.”
The 35-year-old quality assurance inspector said the family was seated next to a glass-fronted cabinet that contained several very old photos of the restaurant’s founders.
Although he doesn’t believe in ghosts, he admitted: “I haven’t done much research into the restaurant but I know it’s very old and has hosted guests such as the Kray twins and the Queen, so it’s a very appropriate place for a ghost.” .’

The couple have been together for four years and hope to return to the restaurant and hopefully take another ghostly photo.
Since capturing the image in 2021, he says his family members still talk about it today and many internet users have come forward to share their amazement at having captured “the best ghost photo ever” .
