Kate Beckinsale hit back at a vile troll who claimed her beloved dog Mylf would die after her pet visited her during her mysterious hospital stay

Kate Beckinsale hit back at a vile troll who claimed her beloved dog would die as she battles a mysterious health condition.

The actress, 50, has been in hospital for undisclosed reasons and during her time at the hospital she has been visited by her dog Mylf and cat Willow.

After she posted a snap of her Pomeranian, Kate was messaged by a troll who wrote: ‘Her cat died so I think this dog will’, quickly followed by: ‘Omg. Didn’t mean to send it to you. ignore.’

Sharing a screenshot of the message, Kate commented: ‘Both my dads are dead so I think my mum will too you could say. If you really thought I shouldn’t see this, you could have deleted it. You chose not to.

‘You wanted me to feel pain. I already do that in many ways. Don’t feel you need to message me again. Please.’

Kate is grieving the death of her stepfather Roy Battersby – who died in January after suffering “a massive stroke” while battling two forms of cancer – and has also been caring for her mother Judy Loe as she also battles significant health problems.

Her biological father Richard Beckinsale died in 1979 at the age of 31 of a heart attack in his sleep.

While Kate has not revealed the reason for her hospitalization, a source claimed ONE on Wednesday that Kate ‘hasn’t been feeling well or well’ but is ‘doing her best to take care of herself’.

In a Mother’s Day post earlier this week, Kate shared a series of pictures of Judy tucking into the cake and enjoying champagne, as well as pictures of herself on the ward and her dogs playing.

She captioned the pictures: ‘Happy birthday and UK Mother’s Day last week to my incredible mum. Thank you to those who love us and support us when it’s bad and try to make sure there are some things that aren’t.’

Kate continued: ‘And to look after our dogs when we can’t and make us remember happy things when we can’t.

‘And shows up when we’re sick and sits with us.. And sends balloons and checks in and pulls us out of the wells with love.

‘Thank you for loving us, those who do, and for the amazing, kind Nick, and especially for my mother’s capacity for joy. It is so inspiring and beautiful.

‘Happy Mother’s day. Your struggle for joy despite also welcoming tears is the experience of seeing a warrior up close. i love you x’

In recent months, Kate had been looking after her mother and late stepmother after flying them out from the UK to stay with her in Los Angeles.

“Kate has been caring for her parents, who both have serious illnesses, for most of the year,” a source exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com late last year. ‘She brought them to her home in LA and has made looking after them her number one priority.’

On January 10, Kate announced the death of her stepfather Roy, aged 87.

The insider revealed that the Snow Angels star has felt the emotional toll in recent months.

“She was seen several times this week crying in the corridors of the UCLA hospital,” the source added.

‘Her friends are very concerned that she has been under relentless stress for months and has barely slept or eaten.

Kate seems to be very strong but it’s been incredibly hard and considering she lost her father so young it affects her very deeply. Her friends are worried about her own health.’

Another source explained that her mum Judy has chosen to keep her health battle private, saying: ‘She’s extraordinary, you wouldn’t even know it by looking at her. She has kept a very positive attitude through everything.’

Last month, Kate shared a photo of Roy’s order of service, revealing he was cremated on Monday, February 19, at Mortlake Crematorium near Kew in west London.

She also shared another look at the document, which had a cute message on it, along with several snaps of Roy.

It read: ‘We want to thank you, our family and friends, for your loving support and for joining us today to honor and remember Roy.

‘Please join us afterwards to celebrate him and his life, share memories and stories and inevitably miss him as he knows how much he would enjoy such a gathering.’
