Scott Wright has lost 3.5 STONE and 12 inches off his waist in just five months.
The former Coronation Street star, 46, went on a health and fitness mission after hitting ‘rock bottom’ during lockdown, with depression brought on by severe insomnia and anxiety.
Showing off his impressive transformation, Scott admitted he had started drinking heavily, taking sleeping pills and antidepressants after his acting and live music work dried up, and his weight rose to 16 stone 4 pounds and a waist of 44 inches.
Now that he’s lost the weight and his career is back on track, the actor has maintained that he would have “no way” got a job “for starring roles” had he been over 16 stone.

In February of this year, Scott was determined to turn his life around: lose a whopping 22.7 kg in five months, with the help of natural supplements from G Herbal.

Scott said: ‘When the lockdown first came in March 2020, my whole life was put on hold. Two huge TV roles were canceled and all my regular live music and performances went away as well. I had zero income and was really stressed about my finances.
“Like most people at the time, I thought it would only be a few weeks, but then it turned into months and there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I was alone in my apartment most days, just watching the pandemic on the news getting more and more depressed.

“My anxiety shot through the roof, I was worried about how I could pay my bills, and I couldn’t sleep at all. In the evening I drank a bottle of wine to knock myself out.
“I started taking sleeping pills and had dark thoughts, so I took some antidepressants, but one of their side effects is that it stimulates your appetite, so I ended up eating comfortably all day.”
TV favorite Scott rose to fame as Sam ‘The Masked Stripper’ Kingston in Coronation Street, and has since appeared in Crossroads, Shameless, Emmerdale, Casualty, Doctors and co-starred with Anna Maxwell-Martin in ITV miniseries Midwinter of the Spirit.
The actor, who will turn 47 in October, is single and lives in the Peak District, near Glossop, Derbyshire, and admitted he became ‘a recluse’ during the lockdown.
Scott said: “Before the pandemic I had a busy work and social life, but in 2020 I kind of became a recluse. I would be alone at least four days a week, I cut off contact with friends and turned off all social media.’

It wasn’t until he saw pictures of himself on a news website that he realized how much he’d let himself go. He had rescued a woman and her daughter from an attack in a shopping center and had to appear in court as a witness.
Scott said: ‘I was photographed out of court by a paparazzi photographer, and when it appeared in the papers I could barely recognize myself, my face was all plump and my previously skintight suit was almost bursting at the seams.
“A few months later there was a photo on social from a family gathering and I was even worse. My face was swollen, my eyes swollen. I had a double chin and looked about ten years older.’
As of the beginning of this year, Scott was determined to turn his life around, but he admits it was tough.

“Within two months, friends started to see a difference and that pushed me to do even better. I reached my goal weight in just under five months and now I intend to maintain my current level.
‘For the first time in a long time I am really proud of myself and my appearance. My confidence has been restored and I’m getting acting offers again, so it’s really been a win-win situation.”
Since getting back into shape, Scott has received a £250K investment to begin filming an independent British film he co-wrote and produced, as well as being offered a major TV role.
He said: ‘Things are really coming back and it’s really exciting, the film project is really exciting and I’m doing live music performances again, but I definitely wouldn’t have had any job offers for lead roles if I were over 16 stone. ‘
