Despite a knee injury threatening his attendance, Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall is the second star to arrive at Brisbane Airport for this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
The actor, 42, best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, was forced to pull out of last year’s series due to the same knee injury which has since recurred.
Last November, the father-of-one underwent major knee surgery and was told by doctors it could take up to a year to recover.
In surgery, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is reconstructed by removing the torn ligament and replacing it with a tendon from another area of the leg.
On Friday it was reported that the Coronation Street star had to withdraw from a paddle tennis competition due to his knee, leading to speculation that he would not make it to the Jungle.

“Alan was supposed to participate in a padel competition, but he withdrew at the last minute because his knee was injured,” said a source. the sun.

Upon arriving in Australia, Alan complied with ITV’s strict rules not to discuss his appearance on I’m A Celebrity until the official schedule was revealed and insisted he was there for a golf holiday.
He told MailOnline: “I’m not sure what all the fuss is about, I’m here on holiday to play golf.” It’s a long way from a golfing holiday, but I’m an avid golfer.’
When asked about his Coronation Street co-star Andy Whyment’s stay in the jungle, he joked: “I wouldn’t take any advice from Andy!” The plan is to live luxuriously while here.
Alan updated his followers on the moment he underwent surgery.
Alongside a photo, he wrote: ‘Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery. Well, on Friday I had ACL reconstruction surgery.

Danny flew from Heathrow and stayed in Singapore, looking casual and comfortable for the 22-hour flight with an Oasis t-shirt and a guitar in his luggage.

But Danny, along with show hosts Sam Thompson, Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers were one of the last passengers to land unharmed in Brisbane; all other flights had to make the 1:35 hour detour.
In a hellish experience for passengers, the plane was forced to hover over the runway for some time before being able to land. Danny told MailOnline: “The flight was quite stormy, a bit bumpy, a bit of a hairy flight.”
