Coronation Street viewers have predicted that serial killer Stephen Reid will kill Elaine Jones after accidentally proposing to her while high on LSD.
The dastardly character, played by Todd Boyce, previously planned to drug boss Carla Connor as he continues his plot to take over Underworld, but his plan backfired disastrously when he accidentally drugged himself.
Later, when a lovelorn Elaine tried to comfort him believing he’d had an anxiety attack, his confused words led her to believe that Stephen had popped the question – with fans guessing she’ll soon be “victim number 3” when he meets the body runs off her for her money.
Earlier in the day, after Carla (Alison King) spat out her tea while complaining about whole milk, Stephen realized with horror that either he or niece Sarah Platt had been drinking the spiked drink – with things not looking good as they both had a had a great presentation. Shortly.
Later onstage, it quickly became apparent that Stephen had in fact accidentally drugged himself, with the villain having blurry vision and sweating profusely before running away – forcing Sarah (Tina O’Brien) to take over.

He then hurried back to his hotel room, where he was soon overcome by LSD hallucinations, with Stephen haunted by the ghosts of his murder victims Teddy and Leo.
Meanwhile, a concerned Elaine (Paula Wilcox), who was in the audience to support his pitch, went to his room next to Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), with the couple getting a maid to show them into the room.
Elaine persuaded Debbie to let her into the room alone where she went to comfort Stephen and propose to him that they retire and that they spend their golden years together.
Still baffled by the drugs, Stephen nodded approvingly and said they were “forever,” leading an ecstatic Elaine to take this as a proposition before hugging the confused killer and declaring her love.
Watching the hilarious scenes unfold, Corrie fans were quick to take to Twitter to suggest that Stephen will likely kill Elaine and claim her life insurance money.
‘Hm. Let’s see: Stephen and Elaine get married, take out a life insurance policy, and then he pushes her away. Victim number 3 is coming,” said one onlooker.
While a second commented, “Think Elaine’s for the bin next time.”
A third tweeted, “Best #corrie episode ever, hilarious. Don’t think Elaine will make it to her mansion.’

In the next few scenes, Carla berates Stephen for backing out of the presentation, causing Sarah to continue and make it clear that he has nothing to do with the US deal anymore.
A seething Stephen goes to the police station intending to buy more drugs.
But when two boys pocket his money and laugh at him, Stephen sees red.
