Witnesses say he drank several shots of liquor before staggering out of the bar and heading to his truck to drive home.

Moments later, the night took a chilling turn when Boucher’s ex-girlfriend approached him in the parking lot but fell to the ground next to his truck.

Authorities allege that Boucher, while under the influence of alcohol, backed up and drove straight over his ex-girlfriend’s head.

The chaos didn’t end there. As the victim lay injured, her friend rushed to her aid but became involved in a physical altercation with Boucher.

Witnesses described a frenzied scene as bystanders desperately tried to prevent the deputy from leaving.

According to the report, Boucher smelled strongly of alcohol and blew twice the legal limit during a subsequent breath test.

He subsequently failed a field sobriety test administered by officers on the scene.

The victim was rushed to a hospital for emergency surgery.

Boucher was still on probation with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and had not yet graduated from the law enforcement academy after joining in August.

He was arrested and charged with vehicular assault.

His colleagues, tasked with holding one of their own to account, escorted him through the same prison where he works.

On Thursday, Boucher stood before a judge in court as some of his colleagues looked on, with his own future hanging in the balance.

Bail was set at $75,000, and he has since posted bail.

Despite the serious allegations, Boucher remains employed by Pierce County, although his position is under intense scrutiny and questions arise about his training and judgment.
