Sue Cleaver has revealed the secret to her incredible weight loss transformation after losing three stone as part of a lifestyle overhaul.
The Coronation Street star, 60, has been showing off a slimmer figure of late as a result of being “seriously ill” last year and giving up alcohol.
Sue explained in an interview with Woman Magazine that after spending a dry January she decided to give up alcohol completely in an interview with Woman Magazine.
She said: ‘I lost 18 pounds (on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here). That year I had already lost a kilo and a half because I gave up alcohol. I did Dry January and then decided to continue.
‘I know it sounds ridiculous at my age, but I never really thought about how many calories I was consuming when I had a glass of red wine while making dinner and then a couple more while eating it.

“If you do that four or five nights a week, that’s a lot of calories.”
Last year, Sue admitted she “overdid it on red wine” during the pandemic and gained weight, inspiring her to quit.
Even though her Corrie character Eileen Grimshaw spends a lot of time in The Rovers, she admitted pubs are her “idea of hell”.
Speaking to Kaye Adams on her How to be 60 podcast, in quotes obtained by The Sun, Sue explained: ‘In the pandemic we all did too much. I spent a lot of time drinking a lot of red wine and gained a lot of weight doing it.
‘Then I did dry January and thought. “I wonder what life would be like if I stopped doing it completely.”
The actress added that her husband Brian Owen shares different views and “loves pub culture.”
“It was my idea of hell when I was drinking and especially now that I don’t drink,” he said.
Last year, Sue insisted she is “not obsessed with diets” as she reflected on the unfair expectations placed on women while covering the March issue of Prima magazine.
She stated that she would never promote any weight-related product as women already have “enough difficulties.”
On not getting caught up in diet culture, Sue told the publication: ‘I lost some weight in the jungle, but I don’t obsess over diets – life is hard enough!
“There will always be external pressure and unfair expectations placed on women, but I refuse to be dragged down by that.
“That’s why I will never promote anything weight-related, and that’s why I always prefer to compliment someone on their smile or their outfit, rather than their weight.”
She continued: “Let women be women; we have enough difficulties and struggles.”
It comes after Sue warned her followers after diet companies used her image without consent while claiming she had lost weight using their gummies.
She alerted her 148,000 Instagram followers about the scam and apologized to anyone who believed she was promoting it.

In the clip, she shared, “I’m very, very sad that I have to make this video.” But I’ve gotten a lot of messages over the past few weeks wondering about… keto fools.
‘Obviously there are some scams out there that say I lost weight using keto gummies. Fools? I don’t know. Well, it’s bullshit. Is a gotcha. And if you let yourself be fooled, I’m very sorry.
‘It is outrageous. And I just want you to know that I would never, ever defend something like that. I am absolutely outraged.
‘Yes, I lost some weight last year. I stopped drinking and went to the jungle. Yes, I have lost weight this year. But not from any diet.
Sue went on to reveal that she had “female health issues” that contributed to the weight loss, concluding: “Life is too short to worry about dieting and finding quick fixes.” “Just be happy with yourself.”
