Coronation Street’s Stephanie Davis is rushed to hospital and left on crutches after injuring her ankle
Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis revealed she was rushed to hospital after she had a nasty accident and hurt her ankle.
She didn’t say how the accident happened, but admitted she was relieved to find out that while she can’t bear any weight on it, it isn’t broken.
The actress, 30, took to Instagram to update her fans on her injury and shared a photo of her swollen and bruised ankle.
She wrote, “I can’t lift my leg. Do you think I bruised it badly? I put it right on that bone.”
In another video, she told fans she went to the hospital for an X-ray.

She wrote, “Hey guys! Thanks for the love messages!
“Update, I’m on crutches until I can put my bare weight back on them, but it’s not broken, which is a relief!!
“Just very, very sore and very swollen and stuck. Thanks for all the sweet messages. It’s already well past my grandmother’s bedtime. So I’m going to get some sleep and rest this foot. Good night.’
Former Hollyoaks star Stephanie plays married seductress Courtney Vance in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.
She said The sun“As soon as I read the brief for the character, I thought, ‘This is mine.’ This is mine’. I did the audition and then went through this wave of emotions.
‘I do believe that everything happens for a reason, but my first audition back? Nobody understands that.’
She added: ‘I wrote a poem when I was about thirteen or fourteen that said ‘One day I’ll stand on the cobbles of Coronation Street’.
‘My mother put it in her bedside table and took it out the other day. She said “How great is that? You wrote that as a kid as one of your dreams and now you’re doing it”. It really is a dream come true.’
Stephanie rose to fame when she was 17 years old after taking part in the BBC One talent show Over The Rainbow in 2010 with the hope of appearing as Dorothy in the show The Wizard Of OZ West End.
She impressed Channel 4 bosses at Hollyoaks, who invited her to audition, and that same year joined the soap playing teenage Sinead O’Connor.
However, despite her career going from strength to strength, her off-screen drunken antics caught up with her and in 2015 she was fired for arriving on set “unfit for work.”
