His day of reckoning has been approaching for some time, but Coronation Street serial killer Stephen Reid may get another chance to strike again.
We thought we’d seen the worst of the sinister killer played by Todd Boyce, but in episodes airing Friday, the villain turns on those he loves, leaving them fighting for their lives.
Returning to the streets after trying to flee the country, he makes a B-line for Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and an unsuspecting Sarah (Tina O’Brien), as the two women threaten to become Stephen’s next victims.
After losing Tim and cheating on Underworld, Stephen had escaped, it seemed, and was about to board a flight in Wednesday’s episode.
But when he realized at the last minute that his passport was missing, he was forced to return to Weatherfield to confront partner Jenny.

Also during the episode, Peter confronted Stephen behind Carla’s back at his home, threatening and accusing him after he continued to deny drugging Carla.
Peter said: ‘You’re going to suffer for what you’ve done and if the police don’t do it, I will.’
Stephen muttered, “Maybe you’re suffering from mild psychosis.”
Or will Detective Swain finally catch her man?
An angry Peter pushed Stephen over the sofa, causing him to fall onto the coffee table, and later grabbed a glass award, but was stopped when his mother Audrey walked through the door, stopping a fight between the pair.
Eventually, the ladies on the cobbles began working together to try to take Stephen down while also visiting Stephen’s partner Jenny, who he tried to run away with to Australia before she caught wind of his misdeeds.
Earlier in the episode, Stephen stole £250,000 from Carla’s factory and a concerned Sally realized Tim was missing after he failed to come home from a football match the night before.
Sally rushed to the canal and feared the dead body might be Tim, until police confirmed it was not.
But since his body is still hiding in the woods after Monday night’s incident with Stephen, will Sally find his body?
