Tensions rise in Weatherfield as Corey Brent’s trial for the brutal murder of Seb Franklin.
The mechanic’s harrowing death aired on the soap in May as part of a brutal assault storyline in which Seb (Harry Visinoni) and girlfriend Nina Lucas (played by Mollie Gallagher) were brutally assaulted and hospitalized.
And Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) can’t contain her grief as she yells at Corey’s father Stefan (Paul Opacic) in an out-of-court outburst in upcoming scenes for Coronation Street.

Seb’s death was broadcast on the soap in May, with a gang of villains responsible for the murder, including Corey.
Seb and Nina were attacked by a gang of teenagers — including Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) — for their goth culture, in scenes that reflected the real-life murder of Sophie Lancaster, who died in 2007 at aged 20 when she was stamped to death for being a goth.
Kelly – played by Millie Gibson – was charged with the murder of Seb.
In between, cop Craig Tinker, played by Colson Smith, also takes it there and was spotted talking to her
Seb’s grieving mother Abi was told the news by a police officer, who explained: “In light of new evidence, the police have charged a number of people. Kelly Neelan has been charged with GBH for the assault on Nina – and for the murder of your son.”
However, gang member Corey (Maximus Evans) – who was the main instigator of the vicious attack – evaded charges after his girlfriend Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) offered him an alibi by claiming he was with her on the night of the murder.
When Kevin asked him, “What about Corey?” the officer replied, “He has not yet been charged, but this is an ongoing investigation and we will keep you informed of any developments.”

She also told distraught Abi: “Eli Higginson and Jason Downing have pleaded guilty to GBH for the attack on Nina and are now in custody.”
Imran Habeeb (played by Charlie de Melo) doesn’t want her to take the blame for the murder and will defend Kelly – his foster daughter – in the crucial trial.
It’s also been teased that upcoming episodes will feature flashbacks of the attack when actor Harry was seen back on set and in character as Seb earlier this month.
Fans won’t have long to wait for the all-important pilot to play out, with scenes expected to appear in the soap in August.
