Coronation Street SPOILER: Harvey Gaskell suffers from nasty shots with cut on the forehead

Drug kingpin Harvey Gaskell suffered a nasty cut to his forehead when actor Will Mellor was spotted Monday filming dramatic scenes escaping from a prison van.

The injured thug, who was thrown behind bars after Leanne Battersby exposed his criminal behavior, was seen getting out of the vehicle in handcuffs, suggesting he might appear unwelcome on the street.

Harvey was jailed after Leanne decided to team up with the police to protect her son Simon from becoming one of his drug runners, with his fate up in the air as viewers never learned the full length of his sentence.

He also had fake blood covering the side of his face and his clothes had been left wet after it rained during filming.

Some photos show him climbing out of the side of a prison van that had fallen over in an accident in the bad weather.

Harvey terrorized Leanne (played by Jane Danson) and her family for months by forcing her to supply drugs in a desperate attempt to protect her son Simon.

Still mourning the loss of her son Oliver, Leanne was devastated to learn that Simon had become involved in drug trafficking and tried to take the job.

Eventually, Leanne teamed up with the police to expose Harvey’s drug operation, but her plot was nearly thwarted by Harvey’s Aunt Sharon Bentley.

A terrified Leanne later refused to testify in court, but eventually stood up to Harvey and provided the truth that sent him down.

Corrie is thought to be filming the annual Big Week to be aired this fall, so it’s likely Harvey’s return will spell trouble for Leanne and her family.

Elsewhere, actress Jane has hinted that fans could see Leanne reunited with her on-off flame Nick Tilsey, adding that there could be another soap wedding on the horizon.

Speaking to TV Times Magazine, she said: “After everything they’ve been through, that would be wonderful. But only if it ends in a nice way, because usually not when they get married!

“We’ve seen why they’re together, and they really love each other. They’ve grown up and aren’t having affairs anymore, so if they’re going to share their lives together, that would be great.”

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
