Coronation Street fans were shocked by the huge price hike at Roy’s Rolls.
As the country grapples with a crippling cost-of-living crisis, the effects appear to have spilled over into fictional Weatherfield, with 74-year-old Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson, jacking up the prices on his coffee.
Eagle-eyed onlookers saw the price of cake, chips and mushy peas rise from £2.60 to £5.50 this year, a massive 112 per cent increase.
On Twitter, one fan compared images of the fictional menu from earlier in the year and today, noting: “Inflation is real.
‘Roy Cropper has had to raise the price of Pie, Chips & Mushy Peas by 112% in the last 3 months. #CostOfLivingCrisis #Corrie.’

While Weatherfield residents are no doubt upset at having to fork out more for their pie and chips, they’ve got bigger fish to fry since there’s a rampaging killer on the loose.
Killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) has been wreaking havoc on the cobblestones as he attempts to gain control of Underworld, Weatherfield’s underwear factory.
The Canadian businessman has already killed three people since he arrived at the scene.
She fired Jenny Connor’s (Sally Ann Matthews) fiance Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) in a flashback episode last year, and both her father Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) and a former client Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo). this year.
The ruthless criminal has also been trying to kill Underworld boss Carla Connor (Alison King), continually drugging her and trying to murder her fiancée Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox).
Additionally, he has terrorized some local teenagers who tried to buy drugs from him.

Now, artificial intelligence has gotten into who could finish off Stephen next in a dramatic twist.
According to the daily starBard AI claims that the exact identity of Stephen’s next victim is “unknown”, but there are several possibilities.
Stephen recently took out a life insurance policy for Elaine, which means that if she dies, her entire estate would be left to him.
He has been taking £380 every month from Underworld accounts to pay for life insurance, paying the money to a mysterious business called Seagull Ltd.
However, Carla told him that Owen Longford (Ben Hull) wants to inspect the company’s accounts, causing Stephen to become very worried.
The Bard AI software stated: ‘Stephen already tried to kill Elaine once, and he may not give up until she’s dead. Elaine is also a wealthy woman and Stephen is motivated by her money.’
And even actor Todd thinks his character Stephen could kill Elaine next, he recently told the Mirror: ‘Those would be the numbers you would connect…’
However, the AI software also suggested that Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) might be in Stephen’s sights after becoming suspicious of the killer.
“Stephen could kill Tim to silence him and prevent him from exposing him as a murderer,” the software said.
Despite drugging Carla, Stephen failed to kill her and Todd suggested that the character will continue to do whatever it takes to take over Underworld.
“You have some people who are making you nervous or making you nervous because they could jeopardize your future. He has worked very hard and I think he has come this far,’ he said. He doesn’t want to have done all this in vain. He wants to have a good life.
