Coronation Street fans have become convinced they’ve figured out who notorious murderer Stephen Reed will be the next victim.

Fans of the soap opera took to Twitter after Friday’s dramatic episode to share their concerns for Michael Bailey after he confronted Stephen about his factory lies.

It comes after it was recently confirmed that Stephen would drown his next mystery victim as the killer prepares to strike again, according to woman.

Michael (Ryan Russell) seems close to exposing co-worker Stephen’s web of lies after discovering he didn’t tell the truth about a meeting about an American deal.

During a tense confrontation, Steven (Todd Boyce) assures him that he only dropped out of the deal because he found a better deal with Rufus Donahue.

But when Michael attempts to renegotiate better terms of the original deal, Stephen is left in a difficult position because Rufus orders him to tear up the deal.

Rufus had warned him that if Stephen didn’t give him the sole rights to the Nipper Snapper, he would tell people he was drugging his boss, Carla (Alison King).

With Michael unaware of the dangerous situation he is in as he threatens to expose Stephen’s lies, fans of the ITV show have taken to Twitter to share their concerns for his safety.

Someone shared his opinion that he was next on Steven’s kill list, and one person wrote: “Mickey is just asking Stephen to kill him.”

While another warned: “Stay away from Stephen, Michael,” and a third tweeted: “Michael is basically digging his own grave. Poor guy, I’m going to miss him.”

Fourth prediction: “Michael shines next on Stephen’s list. You can come.”

Another added: “I think we just saw Stevens, Michael’s next victim.”

The latest twist comes after Steven drugged his boss Carla in an attempt to take over the underworld and attempted to end her life by gassing her apartment while she was sleeping.

Steven has been getting LSD through Rufus in an attempt to make Carla seem unstable, allowing him to take over the factory.

Later, in an attempt to cover his tracks, Stephen lies to Sarah, explaining that the Americans have pulled out of the contract.

After Stephen grabs her keys from the factory, he lets himself into the apartment and checks that Carla was asleep, putting her keys back in her purse before heading to the kitchen and turning on the grill.
