A police officer has been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman and three teenagers inside a shopping center on the New South Wales south coast.
Police were attending an incident at Batemans Bay shopping center on October 29 when the senior officer allegedly assaulted the three teenage girls.
The girls were aged 13 and 17, and the senior officer also allegedly assaulted a 49-year-old woman at the centre.
Following an investigation, police issued the 37-year-old officer with a court appearance notice on Thursday.
He was charged with four counts of common assault and will appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on November 25.
In a statement, New South Wales Police said the officer was attached to Southern Command and is suspended without pay.
