Controversial Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has revealed why he will vote for Donald Trump

Controversial Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has revealed why he will vote for Donald Trump in next month’s presidential election.

Butker, who sparked outrage by delivering a polarizing commencement speech at Benedictine College in May, expressed his support for Trump during an appearance on Fox News’ Ingraham Angle.

“I’m supporting the president who will be the most pro-life,” he said Thursday. ‘The topic is the most important for me. I want us to fight for the most vulnerable, for the unborn, and that is what we must prioritize.

‘I think we have to vote for whoever is most pro-life and we have to be men of prayer who put God first. “I think that’s what’s best for our country.”

In May, the three-time Super Bowl winner gave a polarizing commencement speech at Benedictine College, a private Catholic liberal arts school in Atchison, Kansas.

During the speech he criticized Pride month and President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion.

She also told the graduating class that most women receiving degrees were probably more enthusiastic about getting married and having children, and that some Catholic leaders were “imposing dangerous gender ideologies on America’s youth.”

The NFL distanced itself from Butker after the speech, saying that “his views are not those of the NFL as an organization.”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said at the time that while he doesn’t agree with all of the beliefs put forward by Butker during the speech, he respects his teammate’s right to make them known.

Earlier this summer, Butker agreed to a contract extension worth $25.6 million over the next four seasons, making him the highest-paid kicker in the league.
