Tony Ferguson is next in line to face Nurmagomedov after his third-round victory over Dustin Poirier on Saturday but should an agreement fail to be reached, McGregor will get his chance to avenge his 2018 defeat.

‘Tony Ferguson gets the next shot, and obviously, if for whatever reason Tony can’t take the fight or doesn’t want to fight at that time, then we would figure out what’s next,’ White said. ‘But yeah, Conor would make a lot of sense.

‘What’s it going to cost Conor McGregor before he decides “all right, this isn’t worth it, enough is enough, I need to stop doing this”. ‘The incident in New York cost him millions. Millions he had to pay out.
