Conor McGregor awaits results of physical tests as police search CCTV for sexual assault

Conor McGregor awaits the results of “important physical tests” and “the examination of film evidence” before learning whether he will be rearrested for alleged assault and indecent exposure.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star was taken into custody by police on the French holiday island of Corsica on Friday after a complaint from a young woman.

She claims the 32-year-old Irishman attacked her and showed just how manly he was after a tough drinking session in the chic port city of Calvi on September 6.

McGregor was released without charge on Saturday, but the criminal trial is still pending and he could be summoned to appear before a magistrate later this week.

“Important physical tests have been performed on the suspect, but the results will not be known until after the weekend,” an investigation source said Sunday.

‘These tests are routine after incidents like this one, but it takes time to make sure there is no doubt about it.

It is also possible that the incident being complained about was filmed. It took place in a very busy place, with fixed cameras everywhere.

“Many holidaymakers would also have filmed and photographed with their phones, so they should also be addressed.”

Tests for alcohol and drugs are common when suspects are arrested by the police in France, especially after allegations of assault.

Upper Corsica, the area in which Calvi is located, is also a red zone of the Coronavirus where the number of cases is increasing.
