Conor Benn to be PULLED from Saturday’s Fight Camp show, which is a huge blow to Eddie Hearn after testing positive for Covid just days before his header clash against Adrian Granados
Conor Benn had to withdraw from his headline clash against Adrian Granados at Fight Camp 2 on Saturday night after testing positive for Covid-19.
The 24-year-old was supposed to go up against the tough, well-skilled Mexican in a massive fight at Matchroom HQ for the second episode of Fight Camp, but has now been taken off the show.
Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that Benn will not be fighting on the card on Saturday night, with Can Xu’s world title defense against Leigh Wood now being elevated to the main fight.

Hearn confirmed on Thursday: “Somewhat disappointing news that Conor Benn has failed a Covid test this morning for his upcoming fight with Adrian Granados.
“We are working on further PCR tests, but it will be off the map by Saturday evening.”
He added: “Conor Been is in a good mood, he feels good, of course he will abide by the isolation rules and reset and reschedule his fight with Adrian Granados and we will announce more about that soon.”

The news will be a bitter pill to swallow for Benn, who has gained tremendous momentum over the past 12 months and would have been on course for another blockbuster fight later this year had he won Saturday night.
Benn was the biggest name on the bill for week one of Fight Camp 2 and his omission will be a blow to Hearn and Matchroom.
Britain’s Wood will now take center stage as he tries to make an upset against world featherweight champion Xu.
Elsewhere on the map, Hearn confirmed that Anvi Yildirim’s showdown with Jack Cullen will be part of the main broadcast as a result of Benn’s withdrawal.
