A contestant on SBS’s hit survival series Alone Australia surprised viewers this week when he revealed his favorite pastime was hunting wild animals.
Chace, 27, a Defense Force combat engineer, shared a gallery of explicit photographs in the episode.
In one image he can be seen smiling and holding the antlers of a dead deer.
Another image shows the bloody carcass of a deer after being slaughtered.
During the episode, he told viewers that he hunted once a month and used weapons like knives, rifles, and even a boomerang to kill animals.

This season, the top-rated survival show is filming in New Zealand, allowing Chace to use a bow and arrow, a hunting tool that is strictly controlled in Australia.
“I’m absolutely excited to be able to use a bow this season,” Chace said.
‘I’ve literally been hunting my whole life. I go hunting at least once a month. It’s what I do for fun. If you fail you don’t eat… and I never fail.
‘I’ve hunted with rifles, bow and arrow, spears, boomerangs, and sometimes even just a knife. I’m not out there being a killer… I’m out there being a hunter.’
The Defense Forces combat engineer shared a gallery of photos with viewers.
It comes after Alone Australia became the big reality hit of 2023.
This season, the contestants have been tasked with trying to endure the freezing climates of New Zealand’s South Island.
In the ten-episode documentary series, fans will see ten survivors learning to live in a land full of dangers.
This season, the top-rated survival show is filming in New Zealand, allowing Chace to use a bow and arrow, a hunting tool that is strictly controlled in Australia.
Each contestant has to make do with their wits as they take on nature alone and without any modern technology.
By filming their adventure alone and without the help of production, each survivor has the right to “exit” the competition.
The last one standing leaves the mountains with the grand prize of $250,000.
During the episode, Chace said he hoped to hunt to survive.
Survivors joining Chace include personal trainer Andreas, 42, wild game hunter Jack, 55; youth worker Jason, 36, and aquaculture farmer Krzyasztof.
Also appearing are Leanne, 41, from Victoria; Mike, 60, from New South Wales and former SAS soldier Rick, 59.
Rounding out the cast are Suzan, 54, a Victoria wilderness adventure guide, and Tamika, 51, a former QLD police officer.

The first season of Alone Australia made headlines last year after becoming SBS’s most-watched original series.
Based on an American format, the Australian version, which was filmed in Tasmania, garnered more than a million viewers in half of its 11 episodes.
In the season finale, Gina Chick was crowned the winner of the series, after braving the elements to survive in the wilderness for 67 days.
