Don’t you miss the queen? Michelle Obama has revealed that she received a surprise invitation to tea while on a family holiday in London with her mum, two daughters and godmother.
And the tourists were having a good time at Buckingham Palace in the afternoon.
“We just went on a regular trip and Her Majesty the Queen heard we were there and invited us to visit,” says the wife of former US President Barack Obama.
‘She was so kind to our family. They said, ‘Just come over. Her Majesty the Queen wants you to see the palace. There was no one.
In an American television interview with Conan O’Brien, she adds: `We are just sitting in some room in the palace and who comes to greet us but Her Majesty, only with her bag (her handbag), is in her house.

And I was, like, ‘You carry that wallet everywhere.’ I wanted it to be, like, ‘Where are you going—are you home?’ It’s with her everywhere.
She adds: ‘The Queen showed us the Golden Room. There is a room full of gold. Everything in the palace was like, “This is what we were trying to do in the White House.”
Our rose garden was, like, “meh.” We were in a buggy riding among the roses forever. I was, like, “Now, this is a rose garden.” She let the kids sit in her car. We were there, like, this afternoon.
Daltrey: I hope I don’t retire before I’m old
Roger Daltrey says: The Who will keep swinging ’til they drop. “We’re at the point where we’re obviously nearing retirement,” admits my generation (I Wish I Die Before I’m Old) singer, 79.
But all the time we do a good job, I would never say we won’t do something more in the future. I’ve always said you don’t give up on this business – it gives up on you.
The band will turn down the volume by touring with a full orchestra this summer. But don’t expect to see Daltrey and Pete Townsend, 77, enjoying each other’s company off stage.
Pete and I don’t socialize at all. It’s a business relationship. We are two completely different people. And it stays that way.

Kane scores again – but on stage
Famed screenwriter James Graham cheers Harry Kane’s goals as he puts the finishing touches on Dear England, his new national play which depicts Gareth Southgate’s transformation of the team.
“I’m watching the European Championship qualifiers and hope to get some time with Gareth next week,” Graham told me at the Broadcasting Press Association Awards. Joseph Fiennes plays Southgate in the drama, which tells how psychologist Pippa Grange tried to help players overcome their fear of penalties. But Graham can’t design a happy ending.
“I really hope Gareth lifts the trophy with this team but our story ends with England defeating Italy in the final of Euro 2020.”
