CONFIDENTIAL EDEN: Fright for Fifty Shades writer EL James as she suffers temporary amnesia

Fifty Shades of Gray writer EL James has amassed a £123 million fortune from her erotic novels and films – but her personal life is hardly lacking in drama of its own.

The London-born author, whose real name is Erika Mitchell, reveals she suffered a terrifying bout of amnesia before shutting down while staying at her £1.1 million home in Cornwall with her husband, screenwriter Niall Leonard.

‘I just forgot everything. I called my husband who was walking the dogs and he came back and found me in my little study and I couldn’t remember where I was,” says James, 58. “I was put in an ambulance and lit blue to Truro .’

James, who has sons aged 24 and 26, added: ‘I knew I had kids and stuff, but I thought the Prime Minister was David Cameron. I couldn’t believe it when they said it was Boris Johnson.

‘What did I say? You are joking!’ I just couldn’t get my head around it. Not that I remember any of this — I didn’t make short-term memory in that time. It only took me about 18 hours to finally get it back.”

The doctor diagnosed her with global transient amnesia, to which her response was, “That sounds like an all-encompassing one — it sounds like you don’t quite know what happened.”

The condition is characterized by a sudden, temporary episode of amnesia that cannot be attributed to a more general neurological disorder, such as epilepsy or stroke. During an episode, your memory of recent events just disappears, so you don’t remember where you are or how you got there.

James adds, “It was, and please god it won’t happen again because it’s scary.

‘I became very affectionate – my poor man! — and had a wave of panic attacks.

“You can get it if you step in very, very cold water, if you’ve had incredibly rigorous sex – unfortunately that wasn’t the cause – or were under stress.

‘It was a bit of a wake-up: ‘Get out, Erika.’

Over the weekend, Princess Olympia marked her 25th with another special man in her life – her boyfriend Peregrine Pearson, 26, son and heir to the 4th Viscount Cowdray whose family has a fortune of £224 million

As a child, Prince Charles sent birthday presents to his goddaughter, Princess Olympia of Greece and Denmark.

Over the weekend, she marked her 25th with another special man in her life – her boyfriend, Peregrine Pearson, 26, son and heir to the 4th Viscount Cowdray whose family has a fortune of £224 million.

The daughter of Crown Prince Pavlos and Princess MarieChantal of Greece, who grew up in Chelsea, threw a party in Athens, where she was also joined by Keith Richards’ granddaughter, model Ella, 25. Olympia, who wore a pink mini dress that day , recently described the Prince of Wales as the ‘best’ godfather. “He always remembered my birthday. He’d nail my present: something from Gap when I really felt like it, or maybe a necklace—and one day he sent me a fountain pen. “Of course gifts stop when you’re 18, but we still write to each other.”

The daughter of hotelier Sir Rocco Forte, Lydia, has surprised friends with an impossibly healthy glow just weeks after giving birth. However, her method is not one that they will soon want to follow.

As I can reveal that during their recent trip to Ibiza, the 34-year-old embarked on a super strict diet with her sister Irene, 32, which cut out all dairy, sugar and glucose.

“Like my dad, I’m a health-conscious fitness fanatic, so exercising and eating healthy have always been my passions,” says Irene.

New Trattoria King Jumps Through Spaghetti Hoops

It’s a race against time for London restaurateur Russell Norman, founder of the renowned Patisserie Valerie and Polpo chains.

His new Italian trattoria, Brutto, will open in Farringdon this fall, but he is struggling to get an alcohol license because police fear it will attract drug dealers operating in the area.

“I just got the keys, but it’s been a complete farce – I’ve had three separate meetings with the police about the alcohol license,” Norman tells me. “Because it’s near a noisy and crowded nightclub, I had to promise I wouldn’t let anyone deal drugs in my restaurant, and they wanted proof. How do you prove that?’

The former director of the upscale restaurant group Caprice Holdings – which opened The Ivy, J Sheekey and Scott’s – added: ‘It’s an Italian restaurant, not the kind of place you’d deal drugs.

‘It’s ridiculous!’

She returns this fall as Money Penny in the new James Bond movie, No Time To Die, but Naomie Harris looked more like 007 herself over the weekend as she worked on her shooting skills.

“I couldn’t have done it better,” she says. “Without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life.”

Satisfaction at last for Sir Mick Jagger’s younger brother, fellow musician Chris. The 73-year-old has announced that he is finally done with his all-encompassing memoir, Talking To Myself, which will be released in September. “The book I’ve been working on for 125 years is finished,” he said yesterday. “It’s like the essay you should have written for your tutor but never finished. “I had originally written an introduction full of deliberate mistakes, spelling and punctuation, saying I didn’t care, but in the end I had to ditch that and come up with something else.”
