idle bones! People admit their laziest habits – from throwing away dirty dishes to keeping a pot under the bed to avoiding late-night bathroom trips
People are sharing their laziest habits after a mum revealed she’d rather put her crockery in the bin than wash it.
The woman moved to the British parenting site mumsent to confess, while asking others to share the laziest thing they have ever done.
She explains that once she hated a sink full of dirty dishes, and bought brand new plates, knives, and forks instead of cleaning them up herself.
The mother also admitted that she found herself repeating this habit every week.
“I didn’t get paper plates because I always told myself I was going to wash the next set,” she said.

After making her confession, the woman asked others on the forum to share their lazy stories — and the post has since garnered about 400 of the weirdest responses.
People admitted to not wiping down after using the toilet, keeping their Christmas tree until spring and even putting a pot under the bed in lieu of midnight trips to the bathroom.
One said, “I know someone who used to put a little pot under her bed so if she needed a week at night, she wouldn’t have to go to the bathroom.”
Another said, “The fellow will go like an a**t and if he takes a shower right after he doesn’t wipe the a**e, just hose him off in the shower.”

An anonymous Mumsnet user has taken to the UK forum to talk about how she buys crockery almost every week

The user sparked a discussion about some weird things other people have done because they don’t want to tackle a task
A third wrote: ‘We used to wait for takeaways to be delivered instead of collecting them. I was 20 years old fully mobile with no kids etc preventing me from leaving the house. The takeaway was 150m from my door.
One revealed the great lengths her seven-year-old son went to to relieve his stress. She wrote: ‘My son told his classmates he’s allergic to tinfoil, so they’ll open his sandwiches for him every day. He was seven!
“I dread to think what he will be like when he grows up!”
Another added that someone he knew had kept his Christmas tree until the end of March because they “couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of removing it.”
They said that the tree “was standing in the corner of the room, dark, unlit, and gathering dust” for several months.

One Mumsnet user revealed that they used to pretend to go to lectures and effortlessly dress up to keep up the appearance.
A flurry of hilarious responses continued to pour in, with many admitting they’d rather throw away their belongings than wash them.
One writes: ‘Sometimes I’ve thrown recyclable containers into the general waste bin if there’s been too much effort in washing them. Still nibbles at me.
Another said: The flatmate was buying new jeans instead of using the washing machine in the halls. It was easier to put it on your dad’s credit card than to wait a few hours at the laundry.
Another added, “I’m guilty of suppressing socks because I can’t be bothered to sort them out.” I can’t buy chips etc because my daughter will come in from work and eat a multipack instead of cooking.
“I got the next door neighbor knocking to check we got in because the lights were off, but the back door was open because we’re on our laptops/phone and couldn’t be bothered to turn the light on.”
“I had to buy a baby bottle sterilizer because my daughter hadn’t had a bath in a few days.”
