A truck driver luckily escaped after his cement truck went off the road and crashed spectacularly in the middle of a meadow.

In a recently filmed video, the truck can be seen smoldering by the side of a road in rural Simpson, two and a half hours south west of Melbourne.

The driver, who has suffered some cuts and bruises, appears shocked as he explains to police what happened.

The lorry (pictured) went off the road in southwest Victoria before skidding through the grass and into a meadow

“That guy just got out of there,” shouts a witness. ‘F*** me. Wow.’

As the truck approaches, the shattered roof and destroyed interior of the front seats show the seriousness of the incident.

“They got him out of here,” you hear the man say.

“Oh man, how the f*** do you survive (that)?”

The lorry driver has been called a 'very lucky man' after the catastrophic collision

Social media users were amazed that the driver was miraculously unharmed.

“How is this man still alive, wow,” said one, while another agreed that the driver was “a very lucky man.”

The corner appears to be a notorious site for car accidents, according to a local scripture, it is a “dangerous corner that hasn’t been repaired in years.”

“I know 5 others who ended up where he is, cars and buses!”

“You do more than 60km in a 100km zone there in the rain and (you’re) done.”

“Only a matter of time before there is an actual death.”

Victoria Police have been approached for comment.
