A Taiwanese brand has developed an innovative line of antibacterial body fragrances calling it the ‘perfect COVID perfume’.
There MoitFirst launched in December 2020, it offers 99.9 percent antibacterial perfume in three different scents, each of which is FDA approved and boasts lab-tested antibacterial effectiveness.
Company founder Lam Sing Wai Harddie and his team developed the perfumes in 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic swept the world, choosing fragrances to help people find their ‘happy place’ in a chaotic world, while creating a unique offer an alternative to traditional antibacterial products.

On the brand’s website, Harddie explained that ‘2020 was a tough year,’ with many people experiencing ‘loneliness, isolation and uncertainty’ amid the global pandemic.
While the pandemic continued to take its toll on our community, and many of us adhered to social distance guidelines, I had plenty of ‘time to myself’ to focus on my own needs and well-being, ‘he continued.
While walking home one day, I was intrigued by an earthy balsamic aroma full of dynamism. It was refreshing, energizing and it calmed my mind and wiped away the negative feelings I had.

There are two antibacterial components – benzalkonium chloride and 75 percent alcohol – plus food-grade corn-based ethanol, both of which dilute the alcohol’s odor.
In a lab test by SGS – a Swiss company that offers independent testing – it was confirmed to have 99.9 percent antibacterial activity after 48 hours.
The perfumes come in three different scents, with 10 ml. bottles for $ 24.99, 50 ml. for $ 69.99, and a set of all three in 10ml. size for $ 63.99.
‘After Bathe’ has base notes of sandalwood and vetiver; middle notes of rose de mai and jasmine; and top notes of ylang-ylang, neroli, aldehyde.
‘A Little Walk’ has base notes of patchouli, wood and musk; middle notes of rose and jasmine; and top notes of citrus, lemon and peach.
Finally, ‘Calm Birch’ has base notes of oakmoss, musk, black vanilla and amber; middle notes of patchouli, birch, rose and Moroccan jasmine; and top notes of black currant, bergamot, apple and pineapple.
